Event Planet helping create COVID safe alfresco dining

With experience in large-scale outdoor events and pop-up venues, Event Planet has pivoted to work with councils and business groups to create permanent and semi-permanent alfresco dining areas helping boost business while staying COVID safe.

The City of Sydney is piloting a program to bring bars and restaurants outdoors using footpaths, thoroughfares, laneways and parking areas. This will increase dining capacity while meeting social distancing requirements. Event Planet worked with the Government and business stakeholders to create dining areas with weatherproof structures to enable diners to enjoy alfresco drinking and eating rain or shine.

Victor Dominello, the NSW Minister for Customer Service is working to streamline the existing legislation to enable this programme to be applied throughout NSW.

Event Planet can assist Councils and business groups wishing to implement their own programs to boost hospitality business by increasing alfresco dining areas whilst maintaining safe environments for diners and employees.
