Mirvac Christmas Party

Event Planet’s passion and enthusiasm towards our event made it the success it was. Regular meetings ensured that everything was communicated in a professional and timely manner. Their creative flair and professional attitude made them an absolute pleasure to work with. I would have no hesitation in recommending Event Plant to plan your next event. We will definitely be using them again in the coming years.

The Brief

To create a memorable Christmas celebration for Mirvac staff and contractors with a theme that would raise the bar from previous years and delight guests at a fabulous Sydney venue.

The Result

Event Planet created an “Ahoy!” theme that took guests on a journey from the moment they received the Save The Date notification to the moment they left the party. Event Planet transformed the iconic Doltone House Jones Bay Wharf into a nautical delight! Guests were transported from the Mirvac office to the venue on vintage wooden ferries, which ensured that guests got into the Ahoy! theme from the moment they left the office.

On arrival at the venue, guests were greeted by a sailor playing an accordion, which set the mood for the night, and made guests feel like they were at an old wharf setting while oversized inflatable life buoys dotted the wharf’s terrace.

As guests entered the room, they were drawn to a secret Mermaid’s Retreat, which was hidden behind white chiffon drapes up lit in blue. Mirrored coffee tables and grey velour armchairs created a lounge area. The mermaid, dressed in a blue sequinned dress, atop her throne, posed for guests and offered nautical inspired tattoos for guests throughout the evening.

Food stations were scattered throughout the room ensuring guests did not go hungry – from the BBQ on the terrace to the seafood paella and taco station inside, catering was abundant. A central feature bar with a towering mast anchored the room and was a focal point. Guests sipped drinks under a central canopy of festoon lights and nautical flags. A lobster shack offered bench tapas tables and stools for guests to rest and featured neon lobster signs and lobster coasters.

Guests were entertained throughout the evening by the popular Martini Club who got the party started and guests on the dance floor. The photobooth and hashtag printer were popular throughout the night.

Overall, guests thoroughly enjoyed the Ahoy! theme and this was also evident in the creativity of the fancy dress outfits. It was a virbrant, unique and highly engaging end of year celebration, rewarding Mirvac staff for their hard work and dedication.
